Empowering Student Innovation

The GDSC Solution Challenge culminates in a Demo Day, which will be livestreamed on YouTube. This event showcases the top 10 teams from the Top 100 global projects selected. During the livestream, these student teams present their groundbreaking solutions to a panel of Google judges and a worldwide audience, engaging in Q&A sessions and competing for the top three spots.

This year’s competition features diverse and impactful projects:

  1. Alpha-Eye: Developed by students from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Nigeria, Alpha-Eye is a mobile app aimed at early detection of eye diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa. The app employs Google technologies like Flutter, Google Cloud, Firebase, Gemini, and Vertex AI, addressing SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing.
  2. Atti: A friendly voice assistant app created by students from Pukyong National University in South Korea. Atti aids individuals with mild dementia in managing memory loss, using Firebase and Flutter. It addresses multiple SDGs, including Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing, Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption & Production.
  3. BYTE: This AI-powered nutritional assistant, developed by students from Ned University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan, simplifies dietary choices by analyzing food labels and offering personalized advice. It uses Google Cloud, Machine Learning, and Google Vision API, focusing on SDG Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 12: Responsible Consumption & Production.
  4. DONUT: An innovative solution by Ewha Womans University students in South Korea, DONUT leverages expiring gift cards to improve the quality of life for low-income teenagers. Built using Android, Google Cloud, Firebase, and TensorFlow, it aligns with SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing.
  5. ExoHeal: Created by students from Constructor University in Germany, ExoHeal provides AI-assisted remote therapy for hand paralysis rehabilitation. Utilizing Android, Google Cloud, and TensorFlow, it supports SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities.
  6. Glutara: This app helps diabetic individuals with real-time glucose monitoring and data visualization. Developed by students from Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, Glutara uses Android, Firebase, and Machine Learning, addressing SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities.
  7. NicLess: A smoking cessation tool from Yıldız Technical University in Turkey that offers personalized support through a mobile app and hardware device. It uses Firebase and Google Maps Platform, supporting SDG Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 5: Gender Equality, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions.
  8. Saheli: Promoting women’s safety, this app features SOS alerts and safe navigation. Developed by students from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology in India, Saheli uses Android, Google Cloud, and Machine Learning, addressing multiple SDGs including Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing.
  9. Spoon Share: An initiative by Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management Studies in India, this app aims to reduce food waste by connecting donors with those in need. It utilizes Android, Google Cloud, and Firebase, contributing to SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing.
  10. Therapute: Revolutionizing physical therapy, this platform offers personalized rehabilitation guidance using AI. Developed by students from Georgia Institute of Technology in the USA, Therapute employs Google Cloud and Machine Learning, supporting SDG Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing.
