Meta has launched a major update for Threads. You can now attach up to 10,000 characters of text to a single post. This change gives users much more space to share detailed thoughts and long-form content, far beyond the old character limit.
Takeaways 🚀
✅Attach up to 10,000 characters
✅Share longer posts on Threads
✅Promote work with direct links
✅Authors and journalists share more
✅Boosts engagement and deeper conversations
Many people used to share screenshots from articles, books, or notes to express complex ideas. This method often lost important context. With text attachments, you can now share this content directly in Threads. Readers can see the full text without leaving the app, making conversations clearer and more convenient.
This new feature also helps creators and users promote their work. When you add a text attachment, you can still include a link in the main post. This lets you share a preview and then guide your followers to the full article, blog, or website with a simple click.
Different users can benefit in unique ways. Authors can share excerpts from upcoming novels to spark interest before release. Journalists might post key sections of new think pieces, motivating followers to read more.
By giving everyone more room to share, Meta wants to boost deep conversations and help communities connect over shared interests. This update is one of many steps to improve the creator experience on Threads. Meta also plans to keep listening to feedback to refine this and other features in the future.
