TikTok 2026 Community Fest

TikTok has announced its 2026 Community Fest plans, and this year, the focus lands squarely on livestream creators. Specifically, the event bundles training, education, and friendly competition into one summer-long program. Ultimately, the goal is simple: to get more creators to explore the app’s live features.

✅TikTok expands live platform strategy

Now in its third year, Community Fest has become a regular fixture on TikTok’s calendar. This time around, the 2026 edition kicks off on June 11 and runs through the summer. More specifically, TikTok describes it as “a summer-long series of educational workshops, in-app competitions, and community-building celebrations of LIVE creators and the fandoms they’ve built.”

What Creators Can Expect

According to TikTok, participating creators can do three main things. First, they can grow their LIVE community through the Creator Academy. Second, they can complete in-app missions to earn points while broadcasting live. And third, they can rally support from fans during competitions. In other words, the setup blends learning with hands-on activity. As a result, creators get practical ways to build and connect with their audience.

The First-Ever Community Fest Creator Academy

This year, the standout addition is the Community Fest Creator Academy. In fact, it’s TikTok’s first global workshop series tied to the event. As for where to watch, the sessions will stream on the @tiktok_livefest profile, as well as on @tiktoklive_us.

First and foremost, the workshops teach emerging creators how to build a strong community through TikTok LIVE. On top of that, established creators will share tips on how to make the most of live broadcasting. Altogether, the curriculum covers three modules:

  • Live 101 – Build a strong foundation for going LIVE and pick up key technical tips to get started.
  • The Art of Connection – Learn how to connect with your audience in the first five minutes and engage in real time.
  • Building Your Community – Discover how to use TikTok LIVE tools and campaigns to grow a vibrant, dedicated audience.

Match Mania Brings Global Competition

In addition to the educational programming, TikTok is also running Match Mania. Specifically, the company calls it “a global LIVE match tournament during Community Fest that brings creators from around the world together through friendly competition.”

First of all, the format lets live viewers support their favorite creators. In turn, that support helps creators unlock rewards. In short, it turns passive watching into active participation. On top of that, it spotlights the creators who drive engagement on the platform.

Why TikTok Is Betting on Livestreaming

To begin with, Community Fest fits into TikTok’s wider effort to make livestreaming a bigger part of the experience. Indeed, the inspiration becomes clear when you look at China. There, Douyin, the local version of the app, has turned livestreaming into a major business.

Indeed, the numbers tell the story. According to the China Internet Network Information Center, China had 833 million livestream viewers as of December 2024. In fact, that’s about 75.2% of the country’s total web users.

Now, TikTok wants to spark that same interest in other regions. To that end, Community Fest gives the company a promotional moment. As a result, it can draw more people toward live broadcasts and, eventually, live commerce. Of course, trends don’t always carry over neatly from one market to another. Still, if TikTok grows its livestreaming audience worldwide, the payoff could be significant.

For now, the company is leaning into that opportunity. To that end, it has lined up a packed slate of workshops, missions, and competitions. Ultimately, the aim is to make 2026 the year when more creators step in front of the camera and go LIVE.
