Meta incentives for paying users

Meta is making a clear push to attract more paying subscribers. To do that, the company is rolling out a fresh set of perks for Meta One users. Ultimately, these new tools are designed to help creators and businesses grow their presence online.

✅Meta expands perks for subscribers
✅New tools boost follower growth
✅Reels adds bigger follow button
✅Auto-invites support audience building
✅Subscription strategy targets creators businesses

According to social media researcher Jonah Manzano, Meta is now offering new ways to build audiences and grow follower counts. With that in mind, let’s break down exactly what’s new and why it matters.

What’s New for Meta One Subscribers

Meta is alerting its paying users to a range of updated incentives. Each one, in turn, focuses on helping you reach more people. Here’s what subscribers can now expect:

  • A bigger follow button on Reels. This helps users with Facebook Professional Profiles build an audience faster and more visibly.
  • AI-powered Messenger tools. In addition, subscribers get wider access to artificial intelligence response features inside Messenger.
  • Enhanced profiles. As a result, you can now showcase other sites and profiles beyond the platform more easily.
  • More location listings. Furthermore, profiles can display up to three separate location listings.
  • Auto-invite for post interactions. Finally, people who engage with your posts can get automatically invited to follow you.

Notably, Meta promotes the auto-invite feature as a way to “grow followers automatically.” In other words, it’s a hands-off tool that works quietly in the background.

Do These Growth Tools Actually Work?

To be fair, the auto-invite option isn’t entirely new to social media. In fact, both Facebook and LinkedIn have offered similar features for quite some time. As a result, they give creators an automated way to drive growth without extra effort.

That said, there’s still a catch. Not much data exists yet to show how well auto-invites actually perform. Because of that, results may vary from one account to the next.

Why Meta Is Pushing Subscriptions

Taken together, these updates point to a clear goal. Simply put, Meta wants to grow its subscription revenue. It’s doing so by offering tools and partnership options that appeal directly to creators and brands.

Moreover, this isn’t the company’s first move in this direction. Back in May, Meta announced paid add-on packages for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Then in July, it confirmed it would soon charge users for access to certain advanced AI features.

The Numbers Behind the Strategy

So far, Meta hasn’t shared official figures on subscriber numbers. However, its quarterly reports do offer some clues. Based on those estimates, around 35 million Facebook and Instagram users have signed up for Meta Verified to date.

That translates to roughly $2 billion in extra yearly revenue. While that sounds impressive, it’s still a relatively small slice of Meta’s total business.

To put it in perspective, Meta earned more than $200 billion in overall revenue in 2025. Compared to that figure, subscriptions currently play a minor — though growing — role.

A Piece of a Much Bigger Plan

So why does Meta bother with subscriptions at all? The answer, it turns out, lies in the company’s enormous spending plans. Meta has committed close to $1 trillion to data centers and artificial intelligence projects.

As a result, every additional dollar counts. Subscription income helps fund the resources behind Mark Zuckerberg’s long-term ambitions. Meanwhile, for paying users, the trade-off is straightforward — a steadily expanding set of tools built to help them grow their reach.
